Compiled with help of Wikipedia’s entry for Fanfiction.net and the site stats. According to wiki, the largest 20 fandoms in FF.net had as of yesterday:
1 - HP (594,940). Now the archive has 593,674. So that’s -1,266 stories.
2 - Naruto (304,957). Now 302,956. -2,001 stories.
3 - Twilight…
I mean, really!
Deleting some of the good authors and stories on there! Why can’t you just fucking add another rating.
But no. You’re just going to delete everyone’s account and stories. So, you know what?
- Backup your work. Whether you think they’re going to delete your work or not, back it up anyway just to be safe.
- E-mail the administration about what is happening at: support@fanfiction.com if enough people e-mail them, then maybe they’ll stop whatever purge is going on or change how they go…
…you may want to find out if they update anywhere else, or make a secondary home for own work.
Fics are being deleted for summaries not being G rated, for stories containing curse words and mature content that FF feel don’t fit the rating and in some cases accounts being completely deleted. Notifications are not being sent, nor chances to rectify offered.
